Journal Entry: Thu Dec 6, 2012, 12:02 PM
I've been very busy lately, hence not being on too much. However, a couple of days ago, someone noted me (I will keep this all anonymous, as I have already dealt with the situation) asking for me to write them a GermanyXPrussia lemon.
First off, I do not write slash of any kind; yaoi, yuri, etc. I don't read or go look for it specifically, either. I will tolerate those who like pairing up same-sex characters with one another, but I'm not into it myself at all--and I am not a homophobic or a hater. I have a cousin who is gay, and I love him to death and am very proud of him for finding an amazing boyfriend. So don't call me out for discriminating.
Secondly, I do not write smut anymore, especially for reader inserts. After the lemon scandal, I realized, "You know...this stuff really is a waste of time, and gets repetitive after awhile." I only read lemons from people I watch, because I know they won't disappoint and can actually write with proper grammar, spelling, and a well-thought-out plot. The whole idea of inserting yourself into a sex story just was...immature to me after I thought things through. And trust me, I thought a lot of things through.
Thirdly...if you message me with (and this is the exact wording that was in the note) "ok so u write smut rite well right me germannyxpurssia k cuz i need sum" I am not going to write you anything. You do not know how to ask politely, nor do you know the basics of spelling and grammar. I have already taken care of this (though the person was continuing to be rude after I explained why I would not write such a thing), but I just want to get this up so I can hopefully avoid having this happen again. I don't take requests unless you're a close friend or have done something for me that I found very kind, and I'd much rather be offered points if you would like me to write something for you, rather than spelling that would make even a kindergartener wince.
While I may not be into Hetalia as much as I was, I take offense in that fact they spelled "Prussia" and "Germany" so horribly wrong. I cringed. It literally hurt. I've already explained why I am not much of a Hetalia fan anymore, and this just proves my point: a large percentage of the fandom have become, to be frank, idiotic and annoying. And, as I have stated before, I'm sad to admit I was once being sucked into that percentage before I realized I needed to change. The only fanfiction I read nowadays are by those I watch (since, like I already mentioned, I trust them to write properly and not butcher characters' personalities or the English language--I am very picky with those whom I watch when literature is concerned) and as you can see, I only write fanfiction when I feel like it.
A related topic to this is what I favorite and comment on. Honestly, I rarely comment on things nowadays, and what I favorite are normally poetry and fanart rather than fanfiction since most of the fanfiction is complete and utter shit, to be blunt. If you would like me to read something of yours and critique it, you may ask me to do so if you wish. Politely. I will give my honest opinion, which will include what you did well and what you need to improve on, but I will never flame or be rude. If you don't like what I have to say about your writing, well...don't complain to me, because you did ask for my opinion, and I did warn you that I was going to be honest.
That's all for now. Sorry for a long journal--I just wanted to clear some things up. And I'm not mad about the little troll (that's what I think they were), I'm actually more annoyed at the audacity they had to be so rude and mannerless to me in their notes.
