Pomegranate seeds
have the most
bitter of tastes.

She is more
than a myth,
you know;
unsullied
and untainted,
a spring's
breeze with
the most
arabesque
of lips.

There are more
flames beneath her
skin than in all of
Hades. With every
breath she takes,
winter cries out
for redemption.

She is magenta.

A maiden of
jasper and agate;
lily eyelashes and
locks of supple ivy.

His goddess:
eternal,
unwavering—
a hyacinth among
weeds and sweet
harvest among
the wretched.

A product of writer's block.

I think those who've been watching me since the beginning know I have the biggest girl crush on Persephone (hence my username) and that she is my patron goddess. I adore her. I adore Hades. They are my mythological OTP. ignore that

So...yeah. Persephone is perfect.

The one other poem I made for her long ago kind of sucked and I felt like she needed a new dedication. <3

edited it a bit because lowercase looked dumb

I have no words. This seriously was gorgeous and breathtaking and took my breath away. Wonderful, wonderful job. I couldn't find any mistakes as far as grammatical or spelling issues. Just phenomenal. I love how this is about Persephone, I love all Greek mythology so anything about it fascinates me. Wonderful job on capturing her in this piece, seriously. I know I'm ranting a bit but this deserves it, this piece is too beautiful. Amazing, you should do more work in honor of the Greeks, you are perfect for it just because of this piece. You've drawn me in, now I want to go check out more of your work! Nice job :)

Throughout the whole poem, I noticed your use of adjectives that describe the colour purple, and I love purple, it's a good colour. And all the references to Persephone.

"Pomegranate seeds have the most bitter of tastes." - Referring to how, in Greek Mythology, the human Persephone ate a pomegranate and fell into Hell.

"There are more flames beneath her skin than in all of Hades."- Referring to the literal nightmare she can't escape.

"His goddess: eternal, unwavering- a hyacinth among weeds and sweet
harvest among the wretched." That might be referencing how Persephone is human and Hades is not.

Your work is just so fantastic and breath-taking. So many words can describe it, no words are able to. I truly expect so many great things from you. You're going to go far, very, VERY far in life :)

I've always loved Persephone as well -- in fact, my real name is Steffanie :P After her, haha. Her and then Hades...
This poem was just....I can imagine a beautiful scene and person, just...YES. Lol, I can't even begin to express my thoughts on this. Just, amazing. Thank you for sharing it!

I always feel kind of sorry for Demeter though. :(

As soon as I saw the title and the mention of pomegranate in the thumbnail I knew immediately whom would star in the poem. ^^  As another lover of Greek mythology, and drawer-upon of its imagery in poetry now and hereafter, I :salute: .

By the by, Antisally sells a perfume she created inspired by the story called Can't Wait Demeter on her website Goth Rosary dot com.  It's been years since I smelled it, and I preferred Samhain, but I remember 'Demeter being nice too. :)
